Cottage Grove Soccer Club Meeting Minutes
November 13, 2003, 7:00 PM

Web page
It was agreed upon by the committee that a Cottage Grove Soccer Club Web page would be designed and in place by the spring 2004. Jim Johanns and Joanna Schmidt will research and target for spring 2004.

Referee Clinics for 2004
Jim Hanson mentioned that there will be a referee clinic on January 18 & 25, 2004 (2- 8hr. days) at the Stoughton High School. You need to be 12 yrs. old to participate. Jim is also trying to organize one for Cottage Grove.

Coaches Clinic
Jim Hanson mentioned that a coach’s clinic for August 2004 is set. Check MAYSA Website for confirmation of dates. He is also working on E-license and G-license for coaches for next year. He will bring information to next meeting.

Clinics
Tory mentioned that she would be interested in setting up some specialized kid clinics (i.e. foot skills) and some continuing education training for club coaches. In the past, Jim Hanson has also done some kids clinics that brought some interest to the kids and he would be happy to do that again in 2004.

School Rental
Tim Karls will call the schools (Taylor Prairie and Cottage Grove) to see if space is still available for soccer rental. Once those dates have been set, the club will reserves blocks for team practice; and blocks for open team practice. The times will be from 6-8pm starting December 2003-March 2004. There will be a limit to the number of blocks each team can reserve.

Tory brought to the club to see if her High School Girls could practice on Soccer Club Time. It was agreed upon by the club members that the High School Girls could practice in open block times with other age appropriate kids.

Port-a-Potties
The club will check into port-a-potties for Ravenwood and Arrowood fields. There already are bathrooms at Arrowood and Northlawn. We need to check with the Parks and Rec dept. about getting keys to open them. A port-a-potty placed at the Town Hall may be more useful.

Soccer Tournament
Jim Hanson mentioned hosting a Soccer Tournament next 2004. Bring ideas to the next meeting.
Tory suggested having an end of the year soccer potluck. It was agreed upon that at the June 10, 2004 meeting this would be an end of the year potluck for all soccer families and club members. This would also be the night to do registration for the upcoming session.
